Taking the Sword of the Spirit

"…..and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God”.           Ephesians 6:17 KJV

After the Helmet of salvation is upon ones Head, one is now qualified to have the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Sword is used in a physical warfare to attack the enemies, so also the same thing that the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God does for us the children of God in Spiritual warfare. This is what we use to attack the devil and get victory over him. The in-depth of the word of God in us determines the extent to which we could attack the devil to. Both the written word of God (logos) and the spoken word of God (Rhema) are needed in the attack against the devil and his demons.

In the wilderness, when Jesus was being tried by the devil, He overcame the devil by the word of God written in the scriptures. Devil cannot stand the word of God.

“For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod”        Isaiah 30:31 KJV

It is the word of God that gives us victory over the devil and his demons. The reason the problem is still there is because the LORD has not spoken, when He speaks, no Assyrian can stand it, they shall be beaten down. Wait for the word of God, the sword you need to subdue the devil.

“For the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit and of the joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart”               Hebrews 4:12 KJV

“The voice of the LORD is upon the waters; the God of glory thundereth; the LORD is upon many waters. The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty. The voice of the LORD breaketh the cedars; yea the LORD breaketh the cedars of Lebanon. He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn. The voice of the LORD divideth the flames of fire. The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh. The voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve and discovereth the forests; and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory”.       Psalms 29:3-9 KJV 

The voice of the LORD is powerful and when it goes forth, no powers of hell can stand against it.    

No Earthly soldier in any country will go to war on his own without an order from the Chief of Army staff or the commander-in-chief. There must be an order to go for war by the head of the Army before the soldiers can launch out into the battle field. Also, while at the war front, the soldiers must constantly connect to their control tower for necessary signal about the war. If they disconnect from their control tower, then they could pay seriously for it.

It is the same in the spiritual warfare. You as a child of God can’t embark on a spiritual warfare without the order from the commander-in-chief, the LORD of Hosts. You must get the word from the Lord before you step into battle and after you step out, you must keep contact with Heaven for direction at the war front or else it could be disastrous. As physical warfare is not easy, much more is the spiritual warfare.

God said to me one day that I must be spiritually sensitive anytime I engage in spiritual warfare so that I get the victory as fast as possible and never get hurt in any way. Many children of God have been struck by the devil and his demons during spiritual warfare, some are even killed because of being insensitive in the Spirit. They either didn’t get the order to go for the spiritual warfare before they launched out or they lost contact with Heaven during the course of the spiritual warfare.  If you follow the lay down procedures, spiritual warfare is a very easy task.

May the Lord grant you victory in all the spiritual warfare that comes your way in Jesus name.

The Anointing
