Wilderness is not a place of punishment

Between the Egypt and the Promised land, there is a wilderness. In the wilderness, you will have to keep your hope alive and pursue the vision God has given you carefully so that you can enter into the Promised land and then become fulfilled in God. Wilderness is meant to train one up about the vision and humble one with the experiences in the wilderness (Hebrews 5:8-9).

Until you successfully finish whatever God has lined up for you in the wilderness before you can move into the Promised land. One could delay one’s stay in the wilderness as the children of Israel did because of their hardness.

We must not see the wilderness as a place of punishment but a place to build us. It is a place that removes the reproach of Egypt from us as Mount Sinai and Gilgal revealed. Read Exodus 23:1-33 and Joshua 5:1-11.

No employer will commit a responsibility into the hand of untrained personnel. Every organisation subjects their new recruits into different trainings before they commit assignments into their hands. Same is with the the vision God has given to us. You must be properly trained in it before you will be launched out.

As it is in a conventional School that the nature of the course of study determines the duration of the course. Same as the vision God has given us. The nature of it determines the duration of the training. Also, your obedience and success in the different phases of the training will determine your duration in the Wilderness. Every God given vision must go through the Wilderness. One must pass through trials in the Wilderness. After all the trials, he/she can then graduate from the school of Wilderness.

May the Lord see you through whatever wilderness experience you are going through and successfully lead you to the Promised land in Jesus name.

Shalom
