You have heard how the voice of the LORD uprooted the demons tormenting my life. When the devil is attacked by the word of God, he will want to counter the attack by creating fear in us. It is the shield of faith that we need to defend ourselves from the counter-attack of the devil. Both the word of God which is the sword of the Spirit and the shield of faith are very important spiritual weapons in spiritual warfare. You can’t do without any of them, both are needed. "…..and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God”.           Ephesians 6:17 KJV After the Helmet of salvation is upon ones Head, one is now qualified to have the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Sword is used in a physical warfare to attack the enemies, so also the same thing that the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God does for us the children of God in Spiritual warfare. This is what we use to attack the devil and get victory over him. The in-depth of the word of God in us determines the extent to which we could attack the devil to. Both the written word of God (logos) and the spoken word of God (Rhema) are needed in the attack against the devil and his demons. In the wilderness, when Jesus was being tried by the devil, He overcame the devil by the word of God written in the scriptures. Devil cannot stand the word of God. “For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod”  ...

1. Lawful Captives  “Shall the prey be taken from the mighty or the lawful captive delivered”  Isaiah 49:24 KJV For one to be under any attack from the devil, he has a legal ground that gave him access to hold one down. Though his legal ground might not be as a result of one’s sin, it could be ones parents fault or fore fathers but whatever it is, there is a legal ground the devil is standing for that captivity to be able to stand. Most times, the devil deceives one into what he now uses as a legal ground to hold one in captivity but since one refused to resist him, his deception will hold against one as always said, there is no ignorance in law. Biblically, Egypt and Babylon have their unique representation though they both symbolise bondage. Egypt spiritually means total bondage. Powers holding one down and preventing one from progressing and serving God. Babylon spiritually means worldliness and confusion. A church or a child of God that allows the spirit of the world to control them are in Babylon. The spirit of Babylon contaminate the worship of God. The spirit of Babylon brings heresies and wrong doctrines into the church.  Mostly, someone that is not born again or that has lost his/her salvation is spiritually said to be in Egypt. For someone that is saved and allow worldliness into him/her, is said to be in Babylon spiritually. These days, the spirit of Babylon is contending against the church worldwide.  Between the Egypt and the Promised land, there is a wilderness. In the wilderness, you will have to keep your hope alive and pursue the vision God has given you carefully so that you can enter into the Promised land and then become fulfilled in God. Wilderness is meant to train one up about the vision and humble one with the experiences in the wilderness (Hebrews 5:8-9).  Until you successfully finish whatever God has lined up for you in the wilderness before you can move into the Promised land. One could delay one’s stay in the wilderness as the children of Israel did because of their hardness. We must not see the wilderness as a place of punishment but a place to build us. It is a place that removes the reproach of Egypt from us as Mount Sinai and Gilgal revealed. Read Exodus 23:1-33 and Joshua 5:1-11.  A day like this in 2007, the Lord revealed His purpose for me: On Sunday, 29th April 2007 in the afternoon at Araromi Adigbe, Abeokuta, Ogun state, Nigeria, I was watching a program on the T.V., I saw a woman running a Foundation which assists the less privileged and also the then Governor of Lagos State program on empowerement of the less privileged was shown.
